“Selling like hot cakes”
Where does this saying come from? Why do hotcakes sell so well? And before this becomes a nonsensical blog post about bread: what can we learn from this?
What do we know about this expression and about bread?
1. Almost everyone eats bread.
2. Sandwiches taste better when they are warm.
3. It takes more energy to sell hot sandwiches than cold sandwiches.
4. Sandwiches sell better when they are warm.
What are the lessons for our marketing?
1. Sell what people really want, not only what you can easily supply: take the trouble to warm the sandwiches.
2. Make sure your product or service is better than what others offer: sell everyone cold, then sell hot; even though this costs more energy.
And you? Do you sell hot or cold sandwiches? Do you even sell sandwiches?
If the answer is 'no', or you are unsure whether it is a 'yes', then it is time to start baking hot cakes in the demand-driven marketing oven.
Okay, now enough about sandwiches⬇️
